Job Description

Michels Corporation currently has a need for a Contracts Manager in Buckahnnon, WV.

The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to:

  • Promote safety – assist with the implementation of all applicable HSE programs, policies and procedures. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting actions or conditions.
  • Manage the Contracts and Administration team along with office processes, procedures, and personnel to reduce overhead costs. Keep current in trends and regulations.
  • Serve as the point of contact and liaison for customers and employees on contractual matters.
  • Provide recommendations on all standard and non-standard contracts, and often negotiate directly with customer attorneys or purchasing staff until consensus has been reached.
  • Maintain contractual records and documentation such as receipt and control of all contract correspondence, customer contact information sheets, contractual changes, status reports and other documents for all projects.
  • Support Product Management/Marketing to ensure company products and services are offered with appropriate, competitive terms and conditions.
  • Monitor transaction compliance (milestones, deliverables, invoicing etc.).
  • Ensure contract close-out, extension or renewal.
  • Draft, evaluate, negotiate, and execute formal, short, or annual contracts in the form of various Agreements, proposed terms and conditions, and Commercial and Public Contracting (Federal, State, and Local Municipalities).
  • Coordinate with Risk Management and Finance Department on contractual requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include:

  • Applicant must be able to travel extensively
  • Law Degree preferred with prior contracts experience
  • Manage tight deadlines.
  • Applicants must be able to thrive in fast-paced environments.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication to collaborate with various levels of management.
  • Excellent computer software skills with experience in B2W is preferred
