Job Description

The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to:

  • Promote safety – assist with the implementation of all applicable HSE programs, policies and procedures
  • Provide payroll activities including: payroll processing, year-end processing, reporting, printing checks and auditing.
  • Maintain payroll files and records. Perform transactional data entry into system applications with high degree of accuracy.
  • Review and respond to unemployment requests, wage verification inquiries, wage assignments, levies and garnishments as necessary.
  • Serve as a point of contact for basic inquiries and requests, such as; direct deposit, requests for stub copies, employment verifications, and W-4 withholding.
  • Review taxes and process adjustments independently.
  • Identify and research errors on payroll checks; resolve basic payroll discrepancies.
  • Write, maintain and support a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools. Assist in development of standard reports for customers.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory guidelines, prevailing wages, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Maintain general appearance and cleanliness of department’s office area.
  • Other duties assigned.

Qualifications include:

  • Associate's Degree in related field with 1-5 years of related experience.
  • Computer proficiency and intermediate Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High level of confidentiality and ability to process sensitvie information.
