The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to:

  • Promote safety – assist with the implementation of all applicable HSE programs, policies and procedures
  • Manage Engineers I and II.
  • Timely delivery of the project technical submittals as well as critical non-technical submittals.
  • Assist Project Manager with federal/state agency correspondence and reporting including environmental, QA/QC, safety reports and daily reports.
  • Track material, production, and project costs and provide documentation to Project Manager.
  • Work with Superintendent/Foreman to line up equipment, estimating, take‐offs, and solicit quotes.
  • Developing or refining, in conjunction with the Superintendent, work plans for key phases of the project.
  • Establishing the projects baseline schedule and maintaining the monthly updates.
  • Identify and tract changes and negotiate change orders according to division and company policies and procedures, ensuring legal compliance.
  • Interacting with designers and customer representatives on issues related to the project.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Project Manager and Superintendents.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • 2 years of Project Engineer I experience is required.
  • Experience in the following areas is preferred; soft ground EPB (Earth Pressure Balance) tunneling, segmental linear systems, probe drilling, various types of grouting (compaction, compensation, permeability, etc.), tunnel boring machines, tunnel guidance systems, shaft construction, open cut construction, concrete structures and underground survey, and CPM scheduling method.
  • Possess the ability to successfully negotiate terms and conditions.
  • Manage tight deadlines.
  • Positive attitude with the desire to take initiative and continue to grow professionally.
  • High level of organization and attention to details.
  • Applicants must be able to thrive in fast-paced environments.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication to collaborate with various levels of management.
  • Excellent computer software skills, specifically with Microsoft Office Suite, Primavera P6, AutoCAD or similar 2D-3D drafting software.
