Job Description

This position fosters the environment for safe and profitable operations through planning and oversight of regional operations.  This position will set the strategic goals in coordination with Senior and Project Managers to execute on them.  Relationship management with clients and networking within the industry are other key objectives.

The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to:

  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Direct and oversee operations in the region ensuring team goals are aligned with corporate and divisional goals.
  • Understand external customer needs and maintain and develop relationships.  Ensure that every project is managed to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Lead the pre-construction/RFP package effort with the help of the estimating department.
  • Assist General Manager and Business Development with identifying new customers and growth of region and staffing needs.
  • Build strong relationships with other departments within Michels, including business development, safety, fleet, operations, human resources and finance.
  • Mentor and develop team members; provide feedback; support internal and external opportunities to build professional and managerial skills as well as additional certification achievements.
  • Provide key role in executing troubled project recovery plans in conjunction with senior managers and project teams.
  • Oversight of financial trackers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree from 4 year college or university, 10 years of related field experience, or equivalent combination of both.  Applicants must be able to handle multiple projects at one time, manage tight deadlines, demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication to collaborate with various levels of management and proficiency in computer software skills specifically Microsoft Office Suite.   This position will include travel, which may include extended duration, up to 50-75% of the time.
