Job Description

This position is responsible for the direction, development, and oversight of the Equipment Financial Management Team with the goal of maximizing return on investment at the optimum equipment investment level.  Critical for success is are the abilities to provide leadership on equipment financials and reporting, provide management with insightful analysis to support good business decision making, and drive change across the organization. 

The essential duties and responsibilities of position include:

  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Directly manage the Equipment Financial Management team.  Carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; providing feedback; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 
  • Identify and leverage best practices across the organization to control and reduce expenses related to equipment usage.  Develop strategies to minimize corporate expense; develop key performance indicators for performance tracking and executive management review. 
  • Collaborate with the management team to coordinate and optimize efforts to achieve the Equipment division’s objectives.
  • Maintain open communication with divisional and departmental leads to ensure coordination of equipment financial reporting needs.  Set direction for Equipment division’s financial management needs.
  • Consult during job estimates and bidding.  Drive “best in class” support to deliver high and consistent service levels to internal and external customers. 
  • Work with Information Technology to identify and implement tools to drive better communication, process-management and reporting tools.
  • Reconcile costs and expenditures and review the Equipment division’s financial statement.
  • Prepare and review equipment life cycles, and create and calculate equipment rates and classes for Michels owned equipment.  Manage databases accordingly and provide reports as required by management. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Finance or Accounting and a minimum of ten years of equipment management or finance/accounting experience, or an equivalent combination.  Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and would ideally have experience with COINS, HCSS, B2W, Telogis and Fleet Focus.  Other qualifications include effective oral and written communication skills, attention to detail and organizational skills.
