Job Description

This position is responsible for performing skilled tasks in repairing and maintain vehicles and construction equipment. Critical success is the ability to work independently and on a team, communicate effectively, and be detail oriented.

The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to:

  • Keeps equipment available for use by testing vehicles and completing preventive maintenance such as: engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters.
  • Maintains vehicle/equipment functional condition by repairing engine failures, repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions, replacing parts and components, and repairing body damage.
  • Maintains records by recording service and repairs.
  • Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualified candidates must have two to five years of work related experience with construction or utility related equipment and trailers, as well as heavy truck repair, specifically Ford pickup trucks.   Also experience with DOT inspections, hydraulics, drive train, controls and electrical diagnostics is beneficial. Basic computer proficiency is needed for this position. Candidates must also possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a valid medical card. Applicants must be able to work independently as well as work in a team setting.

Physical requirements of this position include the ability to regularly required to frequently lift, push, pull and/or move 50 lbs., regularly lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.
