Job Description

This position is responsible for ongoing management, development and oversight of direct reports in the Supply Warehouse.  The Supply Warehouse Supervisor carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Michels’ policies. Critical for success is the ability to create efficiency and productivity through time management, prioritization and hard work. This position will be responsible for establishing a safety-minded culture throughout the department.

The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to:

  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Directly supervise the Supply Team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; providing feedback; rewarding and disciplining employees, fire; addressing complaints and resolving problems; achieving efficiency and productivity by tracking/managing labor hours.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures. Monitor adherence to SOPs and update with changing business practices.
  • Create and maintain relationships with divisional management to maximize Supply service and utilization. Receive labor requests and distribute work to Supply Leads accordingly.
  • Plan and facilitate weekly Safety and Supply Meeting; ensure staff is aware of all applicable laws and regulations, internal policies and procedures.
  • Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts, inspecting equipment, and managing repair and replacement requisitions.
  • Inspect supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Propose process and layout improvements.
  • Maintain current knowledge of purchasing procedures.
  • Report work and inventory metrics, providing end-to-end supply performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualified candidates must have one year of prior management experience.  Must possess a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven and maintain an acceptable driving record as determined by the DOT Operations Director and Michels Legal Department. Qualified candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.  Applicants must be able to work independently as well as work in a team setting.                                                             

Physical requirements of this position include the ability to occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 25+ pounds with assistance. While performing the duties of the job the employee is required to work at a desk, and frequently visit the Supply Warehouse.
